Our one day Petra tour from Eilat offers a truly amazing experience. This legendary ‘lost city’ of Petra was carved into the walls of a desert canyon over 2500 years ago. It is located just a short ride after entering into the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan making it a perfect destination for a one day tour from Eilat, including all entrance fees, guiding, transportation, and lunch.
After being picked up from Eilat Border , Jordan Side (You should arrange your transfer to Eilat Border by yourselves) , your Petra day tour from Eilat will begin, crossing the border into Jordan with full assistance, and driving through the unique desert landscape of Wadi Rum. On arrival to Petra, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the magical site, including a short horse ride at the main entrance (optional). Walk through the Siq, a narrow gorge one kilometre long filled with interesting niches, shrines and carvings. Running alongside the length of the Siq are water channels carved by the Nabateans to provide water supply for their people. From here, the ancient city awaits. Sites you’ll discover along the way include The Obelisk Tomb, Treasury, Jabal Madbach (the sacrificial palace), Tombs, Theater and Mountaintop Tombs. After exploring Petra we’ll have lunch at an Arabic style restaurant, with authentic local cuisine. From here we head south towards Aqaba where we’ll tour the city, passing en route through the incredible landscape of Wadi Rum, stopping for a short while, before returning to the border and Eilat. This Petra day tour is also available from Tel Aviv (with flight transfers).
